Eihachi Ota, Hanshi 9th-Dan

Eihachi Ota, Hanshi nace en la isla de Yaeyama, al sur de Okinawa, el 23 de mayo de 1945.

Eihachi Ota, Hanshi wasborn in Yaeyama island, south of Okinawa, on May 23, 1945.

Su familia se muda a la ciudad de Naha, Okinawa en 1958 donde éste tiene su primer contacto con el Karate-Do.  Se convierte en practicante del Dojo del Gran Maestro y fundador del Matsubayashi Ryu, Shoshin Nagamine, Hanshi-Sei 10mo Dan.

His family moves to Naha, Okinawa in 1958 where he has his first contact with Karate-Do.  He becomes a practitioner at the dojo of Grand Master and Founder of Matsubayashi Ryu, Soshin Nagamine, Hanshi Sei 10th Dan.

Se muda a Los Angeles, California en 1969 estableciendo su dojo eventualmente.  Funda la Okinawan SKKA en 1992 para diseminar las ensenanzas del Matsubayashi Ryu. 

He moves to Los Angeles, California in 1969 eventually establishing his dojo. Forms the Okinawan SKKA en 1992 in order spread the teachings of Matsubayashi Ryu.

*Es importante decir que Karateka en Okinawa entrenaban y participaban usualmente con varios instructores.  Soshin Nagamine, Hanshi siempre sentía necesidad de acreditar a tres individuos en particular como sus instructores; Ankichi Arakaki, Sensei, Choki Motobu, Sensei y el reseñado Chotoku Kyan, Sensei con quien éste paso el mayor tiempo entrenando.

*It is important to note that Karateka in Okinawa constantly trained and participated with various instructors.  Soshin Nagamine, Hanshi would always credit his Karate learning to 3 particular individuals which he felt compeled to always list as his instructors;  Ankichi Arakaki, Sensei, Choki Motobu, Sensei and the listed Chotoku Kyan, Sensei whom he would have spent the longer amount of training time.
